Faith M. Corban, 90, of Columbiana, Ohio went to be with her Lord at 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Salem Community Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born June 19, 1918 in Orrtanna, Pennsylvania, one of fourteen children of Edward and Annie M. (Stultz) Naugle. Mrs. Corban was a graduate of Fairfield, Pennsylvania High School. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Columbiana American Legion Post #290 Auxiliary, where she served many years as chaplain. Faith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana where she was a member of the prayer chain and Womens Society. She enjoyed gardening, watching and playing golf, watching Penn State and Ohio State football and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. Mrs. Corban had also been a previous Eastern Star member. Faith was preceded in death on November 6, 1991 by her husband Wilbur "Will" Corban whom she married on July 3, 1943. Survivors include one daughter, Diane (Fred) Hembree of Centerville, MA.; two sons, Douglas (Kathy) Corban of Spencer, IN, Donn Corban of Columbiana, OH; two sisters, Marguerite Wert of Elizabethtown, PA, Mildred Ballard of Clear Spring, MD; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hembree, Jane Hembree, Lori Fitzgerald; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Corban was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters and her grandson Jeffrey. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Ken Kelley officiating. Friends and family may call from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel on Monday, March 23, 2009, prior to the service.
