NEW SPRINGFIELD- Florence Ethel Wessel, 93, of New Springfield, passed away Monday evening at Essex of Salem II of infirmities of age. Florence was born on May 5, 1920 in Jewett, OH, the daughter of Albert Leroy and Myrtle Marie (Busby) Dennis, and relocated to the area in 1940. A 1938 graduate of Jewett High School, she married Joseph Wessel on December 16, 1940. Florence was employed as an egg handler for Barth Farms and farmer Paul Wise for 17 years. She also worked at Sheeley's furniture store. Florence was a member of Victory Christian Center in Columbiana. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter Eloise (Howard) Arkwright of Columbiana; her son James Wessel of Columbiana; her sister Anna Mae Stull of Scio, OH; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, who passed away December 1, 1983; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, 11500 Market Street with Pastor Randy Morocco officiating.
