Obituary

POLAND - G. Robert Kramer, 93, of North Lima, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 25 at Hampton Woods Nursing Center in Poland. Mr. Kramer was born on February 11, 1922, in Columbiana, a son of John and Pauline (Gunesch) Kramer. He began school in a one room schoolhouse and graduated from North Lima High School. Bob became certified as an Aviation Instrument technician and worked as a civilian contractor at the Fairfield, CA airbase during and shortly after WWII. He moved back to the area in 1948, and married the former Wilma E. Stock on May 6, 1950. Bob was employed by Ohio Edison as a substation relay technician for over 30 years. He enjoyed being around airplanes, and would often help others get certified in flying. He belonged to the Experimental Aircraft Association, and attended their yearly fly-in in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He belonged to the Beaver Ruritan, where he was past president and Man of the Year; the Canfield Community Band, where he played the tuba; and a scout master, going on many camping trips. A member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima, Bob served as treasurer, council member, financial secretary, and choir member. He leaves to cherish his precious memory three children, daughter Kathy Kramer of North Lima and sons Donald Kramer and his wife Cherie of Canfield and Robert A. Kramer of Sante Fe, NM; and his brother Ernst Kramer of North Lima. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma who passed away October 10, 2010; two brothers John and Emil Kramer and one sister Pauline Schneider. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market Street, North Lima with Pastor Ralph Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. the day of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Bob's memory to Good Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 12030 Market Street, North Lima OH 44452. The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
