Gail Crowe, 83, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009, at the Hospice House in Poland. Mrs. Crowe was born on August 19, 1926 in Beaver Township, Ohio the daughter of the late Donald White and LaRue (Lynn) White. Gail was a graduate of the Salem City School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at South Side Hospital and also for The Planned Parenthood Association. She retired from Dr. Hovanic's office in Youngstown, Ohio in 1978. Mrs. Crowe was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ where she served as a member of the cemetery board, past president and member of the consistory and as an adult Sunday School teacher. Gail enjoyed sports and reading. Mrs. Crowe was preceded in death on February 12, 1983 by her husband Dale R. Crowe whom she married on January 16, 1948. Gail is survived by one daughter, Polly A. (David) Evans of Woodsfield, Ohio; one granddaughter, Shannon (Branndon) Kelley of Columbus, Ohio; and one great-grandson, Jackson David Kelley. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Paradise United Church of Christ with Rev. Steve Geitgey officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour prior to the service at the church from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that material contributions be made to Paradise United Church of Christ.
