Obituary

Glen A. McCormick, 80 of North Lima, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 30, at the Hospice House in North Lima, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Glen was born on February 4, 1927 in North Lima, Ohio, the son of Homer and Georgia (Bowser) McCormick. Glen was a graduate of North Lima High School. He worked in construction for many years and retired in 2001 as the Beaver Township Zoning Inspector. Glen served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Mount Olivet United Church of Christ where he served in the past as an adult Sunday School Teacher and had been a member of the choir. Mr. McCormick was a retired member of the Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department and past member and president of Beaver Ruritan. Glen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace Suzanne (Schmidt) McCormick, whom he married on July 6, 1947 in Columbiana, Ohio. Other survivors include his children; Arthur (Millie) McCormick of Glendale, Arizona, Glenda Roepke of North Lima, James (Dixie) McCormick of North Lima and Patty McCormick of North Lima. Mr. McCormick is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Charlotte Work of Wheelsburg, Ohio. Glen was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Jean Clark. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Mt. Olivet U.C.C. in North Lima, with Rev. Melinda Q. Lacefield officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Calling Hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice House for the loving care they gave to Glen and the family. Material contributions can be made to the church memorial fund or the Hospice House in North Lima. Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Homes handled the arrangements.
