Obituary

BOARDMAN - Grace May Kimble, 89, of New Middletown, formerly of New Springfield, passed away Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman campus surrounded by family. She was born on February 1, 1924 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of Dale and Pearl Guterba Rogers, and lived in New Springfield for over 70 years. After graduating Mt. Jackson High School, Grace married Porter E. Kimble on July 25, 1946. She worked at the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield as a past chaplain and president, but her passion was taking care of and nurturing her children. Grace was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2799. She enjoyed gardening and loved playing cards - especially euchre and yahtzee. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the true loves of her life, and she looked forward to spending time with all of them. Grace is survived by her seven daughters, Martha (Rod) Mcewan of Boardman, Betty Ann (Ken) Robertson of New Springfield, Ruth (Bill) Burns of New Springfield, Karen Hoopes of Poland, Donna (Mason) Evans of New Springfield, Bonnie McTague of Boardman, and Janet VanKirk of Boardman; five sons, Robert Kimble of Woodworth, William (Betty) Kimble of Louisville, OH, Donald Kimble of New Springfield, Larry (Maryann) Kimble of Canfield, and Charles (Ellen) Kimble of Ellsworth; 41 grandchildren; over 100 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson, Dominic Rura. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Porter, who passed away November 3, 1977; by a son, Clarence, by two infant daughters Darlene and Denise, one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 22 at Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown with Pastor Larry Klinker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday February 21 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, 11500 Market Street. Calling hours will also be one hour prior to the services Friday, February 22 at the church.
