Harold "Jim" Drexler, 89, of Columbiana, OH, passed away at 11:25 am Monday, February 21, 2011 at Essex II in Salem. Mr. Drexler, the son of Mathias and Anna (Shier) Drexler, was born on July 17, 1921 in Owosso, MI. Harold was a graduate of Columbiana H.S. in 1939. He served in WW II in the army 5th division in European Theater and was a life member and past commander of the York Drexler V.F.W. Post 5332 in Washingtonville. Harold worked as a foreman at the Columbiana Foundry where he retired in 1987. Harold is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Mercure) DeJane Drexler, whom he married June 12, 1976. Survivors also include a son Dennis (Cheryl) Drexler of Bonita Springs, FL, two step sons, James (Sue) DeJane Jr., Washingtonville, Gerald DeJane, Poland, and sister Mrs. Bessie Gaskill, Columbiana. He is survived by six grandchildren, Jamie Hogan, Lisa and Daren Drexler, and Zachary, Marissa, and Dylon DeJane, and also three great-grandchildren, Dylon and Kyla Hogan, and Peyton Dejane. Preceded him in death is son Terrance Drexler, sisters Mable Drexler and Hazel Sundeen, and three brothers, Carl, York, and William. A memorial mass will be held Saturday February 26th , 2011 at the St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, at 12:00 noon with Reverend Thomas Ziegler officiating. Material contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home Columbiana.
