Hazel K. Bieber, 97, of 1630 W. Western Reserve Road, Poland, passed away at 5:15 am, Thursday, March 27, 2008 at her home, following a brief illness. Mrs. Bieber was born December 5, 1910 in Canfield, Ohio, the daughter of Ira and Lottie (Renkenberger) Cool. Hazel was a life long area resident. Mrs. Bieber was employed at Bales Davis excavating for over 35 years working as a bookkeeper and retired at age 92. For over 65 years Hazel was active in politics. She worked at the G.O.P. tent at the Canfield Fair collecting donations, served as a poll worker, presiding Judge, precinct committee person, served as a Republican precinct committee person in Boardman Township, and served several terms as President of the Western Reserve Republican Woman's Club, with whom she was a charter member when in was founded in 1958. Mrs. Bieber was appointed by Katherine Kennedy Brown to serve as a member of the Legislative Committee for the Ohio Federation of Republican Women and on her 90th birthday in 2002, Hazel was recognized by Governor Bob Taft. Hazel was a member of the Martin Luther Church of Youngstown and also attended the Paradise Lutheran Church of Canfield, she enjoyed bird watching, monarch butterflies and gardening and was a member of the Woodworth Garden Club. Hazel is survived by two sons; Orville (Bill) C. Bieber Jr. of Canfield, Douglas L. (Mary Ann) Bieber of Poland, one daughter; Audrey (George) John of Niles, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bieber was preceded in death by one brother; Todd Cool, two sisters; Ruby Harrold and Alice Monath also a daughter in law; Deloris Bieber. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2008 at Paradise Lutheran Church with Rev. Alex Hiliard officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour prior to the service Monday, March 31, 2008 at the church. The family suggests that material contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Paradise Lutheran Church or the donor's favorite charity.
