Sprott, 91, formerly of New Middletown and Columbiana, passed away at Kensington Care Center at Anna Maria of Aurora, where she had been a resident for four years on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 6:30 a.m. Miss. Sprott was born on September 23, 1915, the daughter of Frank and Tillie Esenwein Sprott. Hazel was a life long area resident. She worked for Stambaugh Thompson's downtown Youngstown store and also worked 33 years for Nemenz Food Stores in New Middletown at the checkout. Miss Sprott was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown. Hazel is survived by one sister, Mrs. Doris Smith of Aurora, Ohio, two nieces, Sandy Smith of Natick, Massachusetts and Sheryl Smith of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her step-mother Nora Sprott and her sister Ruth Madden. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at the Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown with Pastor Larry Klinker officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery.
