Helen G. Oliver, 91, passed away peacefully at Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

She was born April 7, 1926 to Lloyd E. and Hannah M. (Basler) Guterba and was a life-long area resident. She received her B.S. in Education from Youngstown College (YSU), taught in the Boardman school system for seven years, and retired in 1986 from the South Range school system after twenty-four years.  Helen was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and the Mahoning County Retired Teachers Association.  She married Edwin C. Oliver on August 12, 1949, and together they would celebrate 65 years of marriage before his passing on March 7, 2015. Helen was also a faithful member of Mount Olivet United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughters Susan Foley and her husband John of Marion, OH and Mary Ann Dornon and her husband Thomas of New Middletown; grandchildren Abby (Tino), Sharon, Ann, Travis (Heather), Laura (Aaron) and Mark (Isabella); great-grandchildren Mia, Luca, Jesse, Bobby, and Lina; a sister Mildred Stratton and her husband Donald of Poland; and a sister-in-law Barbara Oliver of Boardman.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin and a brother Edgar Guterba.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor John Bradley will be held on Saturday, November 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Rd, North Lima.

Burial will follow at North Lima Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima and again at church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
