Helen C. Whan, 92 of Leetonia, passed away at Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana at 10:00 am, Friday September 14, 2012. Helen was born July 25, 1920 in Lesco, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Albert and Ethel Frantz Cannon. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Arthur D. Whan on March 13, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, George R, Charles W., Harry and David A. Cannon. Helen is survived by two sons Richard A. of Georgia and Florida and David C. (Madeline) of Oregon, two grandchildren Tracey Sutton of Georgia, Stephanie Z. Wodfin of Tennessee and great-grandchildren Luke and Hope Wodfin. Helen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Leetonia. She was a 1938 graduate of Fairfield Centralized School. She was a homemaker and loved to garden. The family has entrusted the care of Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with the arrangements. There will be no services or calling hours.
