Hilda M. Simpson, 92, of Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at 8:12 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Hospice House, Poland. Mrs. Simpson was born July 13, 1916 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of Michael and Susanna (Modjesch) Lutsch. Hilda was employed at the Cottage Hospital of Grosse Point, Michigan for 22 years as a seamstress. She retired in 1980. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana and a member of the Detroit 37 Branch of the Saxons. Hilda is survived by her husband Harry Simpson, whom she married on August 11, 1984. She is also survived by one daughter, Margaret (Frank) Miller of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two sons, John (Terry) Thalgott of Frazer, Michigan and Ronald (Mary Anne) Thalgott of East Point, Michigan; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one brother, William (Sally) Lutsch of St. Claire Shores, Michigan. Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Lutsch and two sisters, Hermina Wilson and Freda Warnke. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Dr. Rev. Kenneth Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.
