Jack Lee Echard, 61 , of Leetonia, Ohio, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman Campus, at 1:40 a.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011, following a three year battle with cancer. Mr. Echard was born in Salem, Ohio on July 13, 1950, the son of Walter and Maxine (Vollnogle) Echard. Jack was a 1968 Crestview High School graduate. He was a Viet Nam veteran who served on the U.S.S. Farragut in the Navy. He was the owner and operator of Echard Trucking for eighteen years, and recently worked as safety director for Ed Wilson & Son Trucking. Besides his mother Maxine Vollnogle Echard of Leetonia, Mr. Echard is survived by his wife Virginia Wilson, whom he married on April 21, 1972. He is also survived by two daughters, Julie ( Jeffery) Heverly, New Springfield, and Melissa (Frank) Magno, New Galilee, PA, two brothers, Robert W. (Linda) Echard, Salem, David G. (Barbara) Echard, Leetonia, six grandchildren, Talia, Audrey, Reagan, Cheyenne, Austin, and Morgan. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at North Lima Mennonite Church in North Lima with Rev. Todd Wilhelm officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, Columbiana, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday morning at the Church.
