Jack S. Kunder, age 85 of North Lima, OH passed away at 2:40am Monday, November 1, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Medical Hospital Youngstown, OH. Mr. Kunder, the son of Jacob and Magdelena (Baumstark) Kunder, was born on September 9, 1925 in Youngstown, OH. Jack worked as a professional truck driver, where he worked for Daniels Motor Freight, Eazor Express, and for C.J. Rogers for a combined total of 41 years. Jack also owned and operated his own farm for over 30 years. He also worked 9 years as a night watchman for Baird Bros. saw mill in Canfield, OH. For many years, Jack was a member of Teamsters Local 377 and was a 3rd class U.S. Navy machinist during W.W.II, and was stationed in New Caledonia in the South Pacific. Jack is survived by his wife, Pauline R. Best, whom he married on December 14, 1974. Survivors include, sons Howard (Donna) Kunder of Mulberry Grove, IL, Paul (Elizabeth) Kunder of North Lima, OH, Tom Kunder of Gastonia, N.C., and David (Teresa) Kunder of Boardman. Also survived is daughter Patty (Dave) Polasky of Pittsburgh,PA, sister Mary Jean Howell of Brookpark, OH, and brother Robert Kunder of Gettysburg, PA. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. One brother, Joseph Kunder proceeded him in death. Services will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home North Lima at 11:00am with Pastor Shawn Conaboy officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday November 4, 2010 and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the Funeral Home. Family suggest material contributions be made to the New Springfield Rescue Squad or Fire Department.
