LEETONIA-James Edward Horst, 90, formerly of Columbiana, went to his eternal reward September 11 at his home. James was born on July 31, 1924 in Salem, a son of the late John and Ida (Weaver) Horst. He was a member of the Mount Joy Mennonite Church. James is survived by his children, Janet (Rogelio) Pichiya of Guatemela, Marjorie of Salem, Norma (Gene) Schrock of Leetonia, Ella of Columbiana, Verna (Ivan) Weaver of Mifflintown, PA, J. Stanley (Leah) Horst of Columbiana, Dwain (Gloria) of Timberville, VA, and Leon (Elizabeth) Horst of Leetonia. He also leaves 49 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren, a brother John Horst of Sarasota, FL, and a sister Ruth Horst of Goshen, IN. He was preceded in death his wife Etta Van Pelt on October 12, 1997, a daughter Lydia Martin on February 7, 1998, an infant son Kent, and a sister Vera Witmer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 10 a.m. at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 549 Chestnut Street Ext., Leetonia, OH 44431. The family will receive friends Monday, September 15 from 5-9 p.m. at Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Interment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery.
