COLUMBIANA - Janet Lee (Giles) Tatman, age 82, of Columbiana, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2016 at Parkside Health Care Center. Beloved wife of Dwight E. Tatman, only child of Juanita and John Giles, and caring mother of children, Teri (Jim) Morgan and Dave (Barbie) Tatman. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren John, Philip, Scott, Jeff, Parke, Amy and Mark, one great grandson Aidan, one sister-in-law Hazel, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and a house full of so many mementos of her childhood and the couple's travels. Raised in Pennsville, Morgan County, Ohio, she attended both Muskingum University and Ohio University. When first married, she and Dwight lived in Glen Burnie, Maryland and then Zanesville, Ohio. She will be remembered for her sweet demeanor, her intelligence, her dazzling smile, her service to her community, but most of all for the inspiring love she and Dwight shared. Her quiet self-confidence were always an inspiration to her children. Janet became Columbiana's Welcome Wagon Hostess in the 1970s and worked for PNC for 17 years in Public Relations. She always volunteered at the kids' schools, was active in PTO, and served on Columbiana Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Club Board. She enjoyed her times with the Bridge Club and the Garden Club. For more than 40 years, Janet served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Columbiana Library. Her faith was an integral part of her daily life and she led every committee more than once for the Columbiana First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3 at 6:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana with Reverend Charles Reedy officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., two hours before the services at the funeral home. Internment will take place at the Penn Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Janet's memory to Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main Street, Columbiana, OH 44408.
