SALEM - Janice Carol (Holden) Ward recently of Salem, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday morning May 25, 2015. Janice was born in Croydon, Pennsylvania on September 26, 1930 to the late Harold Raymond and Emma Edith (Wadsworth) Holden. On September 1, 1949 Janice married Harry Eugene Ward in Troy, New York. Janice spent more than 3 decades dedicating her time as a church secretary in every church she attended for as long as she felt she was capable. Janice had been a member of a Methodist Church everywhere she lived and served on every committee in existence at some point in time. She was always very dedicated to her church. Janice was very proud to be a graduate of Mildred Elly Secretarial School in Troy, NY and was employed as a secretary for many years at various locations. Throughout her life she lived in many places; moving seemed to give her great pleasure. She lived in Pennsylvania, New York state, Vermont, Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Oregon, Kentucky and Florida. Janice and Harry had 5 children; they were very proud of each of them. Janice is survived by her sister Muriel Henry of Constable, New York, her sons Raymond (Joanne) Ward of Salem, Ohio and Alan (Debby) Ward of Indianapolis, Indiana and a daughter Nancy Ward of Highgate, Vermont. She is also survived by her grandchildren Dorothy (Richard) Delp in Ohio, Valerie (Brian) Collins in Georgia, Joseph (Karen) Ward in Indiana, Robert (Bethany) Ward in Indiana, Donovan (Cassidy) Ward in Ohio, Trevor (Carrie) Ward in Pennsylvania and Judah Ward in Vermont as well as many of their children and most recently her great-great grandson Jaxson. Janice was predeceased by her husband Harry Ward in 1982, her son Jerry Ward in 1997 and her daughter Carolyn Ivy (Ward) Kelpine in 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15 at 11:00 am at Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, Poland, Ohio with Pastor Susan Holley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services, at 10:00 am, at the church. The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
