Obituary

Jean (Weaver) Fairchild, 88, of Boardman passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, September 18 at the Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Jean was born March 20, 1922 in North Lima, a daughter of Jenny (Lantz) and Amos Weaver. She attended South Range High School where her and her sisters excelled in basketball. This passion and love for sports remained with her throughout her life. She was a life long bowler and an avid fan of her favorite teams. Jean worked many years as a waitress in several area restaurants. She was the first full time dispatcher with the North Lima Fire and Police Department and retired after 10 years of dedicated service. Jean was an outstanding mother and homemaker. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Bob Fairchild, daughter Karen Beardmore of Dallas, Texas; son Richard Weber, of Tampa, Florida, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her son Tom Weber of North Lima, brothers, Jerry, Lavant, Olin, Berle and sisters Jane, Georgia, Prudence, Gladys, Mildred, Wanda, Betty and Odessa. She treasured her family and friends and had a zest for life that was with her to the very end. Her life is expressed in a few lines of song: " Jean, Jean, roses are red and all of the leaves have grown green, and the clouds are so low, you can touch them, and so come to the meadow, Jean." From those who loved you and will cherish your memory. The family requests that material tributes be made in Jean's name to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
