Box 281 North Lima, Ohio 44452 330-549-2231 Jean Esther Steiner, 75, of North Lima, passed away at her residence at 12:00 noon Thursday, February 23, 2006 from complications of cancer, following a 4 A½ year illness. Jean was born on January 14, 1931 in North Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Port and Elta Leinbach Mellinger. She retired from Mellinger Nursery where she was vice-president and office manager. She was a member of the North Lima Mennonite Church where she served as S.S. Primary Superintendent and teacher, Circle of Love president and Church Librarian. She had been church secretary in the past. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, reading and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Steiner, whom she married July 12, 1951. Other survivors include two daughters Elaine Williams and her husband Christ of Olympia, Washington and Beverly Kimmel and her husband Kevin of Wichita, Kansas; a son Philip Steiner and his wife Mariellen of Columbiana; three sisters Mrs. Robert (Anna Mae) Reese Painesville, Ohio, Mrs. Cleo (Eunice) Schmucker of Louisville, Ohio and Mrs. Joseph (Alice) Kreidler of North Lima, Ohio and 15 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends at 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2006 at the North Lima Mennonite Church with Rev. Robert Wengerd officiating. A private interment service will be held Monday morning at the North Lima Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 pm Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the North Lima Mennonite Church.
