Detrick, 78, formerly of New Waterford, passed away at 10:56 pm on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Salem Community Hospital. Mrs. Detrick was born on June 13, 1928 in North Lima, the daughter of Adin and Ethel Cooley Mellinger. Mrs. Detrick lived in New Waterford for 35 years, moving there from North Lima. She worked at the North Lima Motel for 30 years retiring in April 2004. She was an avid bingo player. She was preceded in death on December 15, 1994 by her husband, Charles K. Detrick. They were married on January 24, 1948. Survivors include two daughters Naomi Malone and her husband Thomas of Wayland, New York, June Dilling of New Waterford; three sons Donald Detrick and Gerald Detrick both of Dansville, New York and Dennis J. Detrick of Parma Heights, Ohio; three sisters Mrs. Bill (Charlotte) Evankovich and Yvonne Garlich both of North Lima and Mrs. Norman (Susan) Weeden of Columbiana; a brother Luster (Shirley) Mellinger of Columbiana and many grandchildren and great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Willard Mellinger. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Pastor Chris Woolley officiating.
