JoAnne B. Stephens, 73, of 224 Park Place, Columbiana, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 following an extended battle with cancer. JoAnne was born on July 8, 1934 in Columbiana, Ohio, the daughter of R. Grant and Erma M. (McFadden) Bevington. Mrs. Stephens resided in the local area most of her life. She worked at Henderson's Office Supply and prior to that was high school French and social studies teacher at Boardman and Cincinnati school districts. JoAnne received her teaching degree from Kent State University and had also attended The Ohio State University and Spalding College of Louisville, KY. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana. She was a stalwart Buckeye fan. JoAnne is survived by her husband, Jack Stephens, whom she married in 1963. Mrs. Stephens is also survived by one daughter; Jacqueline McMillan of Fayetteville, N.C., two sons; Arthur Stephens and his friend Andrew Houser and Jon (Mary Ann) Stephens, all of Columbus, four grandchildren; Julea Clark, Abigail McMillan, Grant Stephens and Katherine Stephens and three sisters; Marilyn Blythe of Columbiana, Carolyn (Albert) Dilz Jr. of Cincinnati and Marcia (Robert) Henderson of Columbiana and sister-in-law; Frieda Bevington. One Brother, Charles Bevington, preceded her in death. A Private Service will be held on Thursday February 7, 2008.
