Obituary

John E. Huebert, 62, of North Lima, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at his home. John was born on April 21, 1945, in Salem, Ohio, the son of Jacob and Grace (Lehman) Huebert. John was a 1963 graduate of North Lima High School and a 1967 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music. He worked for 37 years at Beaver Local Middle School as the band instructor and taught three years at Youngstown Christian School. Mr. Huebert was a member of Midway Mennonite Church, where he served as a music director for many years. He also served as the choir director for Calvary United Methodist Church in North Lima for six years. John sang in the Youngstown Symphony Chorus in earlier years and gave private music lessons from his home. John also painted houses part time during the summer. Mr. Huebert is survived by his wife, the former Melva Horst, whom he married on June 7, 1970. Other survivors include one daughter, Mary Grace Huebert, currently residing in California; one son, Jacob H. Huebert of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Mary (Rufus) Rodgers of Columbiana; and two brothers, his twin, James Huebert of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, and Roderick (Ida) Huebert of Moundridge, Kansas. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana, with Rev. Ernest Martin officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008, and from 1:30-3:30 p.m., on Sunday, April 20, 2008, all at the Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana.
