Box 1 Columbiana, Ohio 44408 330-482-3788 Mrs. Julia Benson, 97, formerly of New Springfield, Ohio, passed away, June 21, at Essex of Salem after a brief illness. Mrs. Benson was born on March 25, 1911 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Andrew and Julia Yuris and the adopted daughter of Francis and Minnie Brown. She was a graduate of Springfield Twp. High School, class of 1929. She was a homemaker. Julia was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Springfield and she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. Benson had a deep love of family. She and her husband loved to garden and raised and harvested thousands of quarts of strawberries and raspberries. Julia leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, William (Nancy) Benson of New Waterford, and Gordon (June) Benson of Mountain View, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Deborah Felger (Paul) Kinnick of Austintown, Lisa Benson (Doug) Green of Columbiana and five great-grandsons, Chase, Keenan, Kaden, Cutter and Creed Green. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Benson, her daughter Mildred Benson Felger, her parents and two sisters, Jane Meredith and Anna Yuris. Friends may call at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mary Murtha officiating. Burial will be in New Springfield Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donation be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Springfield.
