June E. Patchen, 87, of Columbiana, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Parkside Health Center. June was born November 18, 1922 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of James Erwin and Maude May Phelps White. June was the last of a family of seven children. Mrs. Patchen moved to Columbiana in 1945. She had worked at the Poultry Association of Columbiana. June was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana. She was a 60 year life member of the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290 where she helped out with the street fair every year. June was also a member of the 40 & 8. She loved dancing, bowling, traveling and writing poetry. Mrs. Patchen was preceded in death on June 13, 2003 by her husband Robert G. Patchen. They were married September 6, 1942. June is survived by 11 of 12 nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, her sisters Blanche Rolf, Ruth White, Audrey Trimble and Erma Garey; her brothers Cecil White and Lloyd White and a niece Cindy Reece. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Rev. Renae Meggitt officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
