Kathleen C. Covert, 84 of 1229 Columbiana-Lisbon Rd. Lot 17, Columbiana, passed away at her residence on Wednesday afternoon, September 20, 2006 from an apparent heart attack. Kathleen Covert was born on April 13, 1922 in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William P. and Oina I. Burke Nelson. She moved to the local area when she was a teenager. Mrs. Covert was a homemaker. She was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Hope Circle and member of the quilting circle. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Columbiana and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death on January 2, 1998 by her husband Anthony Covert. They were married on October 6, 1943. She is survived by a son Gregory D. Covert and wife Lisa of Salem, Oregon; a brother Wayne H. Nelson and his wife Rose Mary of Aurora, Colorado; a grandson Jason A. Young and his wife Amanda of Berlin Center, Ohio and a granddaughter Dr. Courtney R. Young of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a daughter Mrs. Cheryl Young in 2000. Also preceding her in death are a sister Alice Gleckler Bush and brothers Warren A. Nelson, Charles E. Nelson, Duane H. Nelson and W. LaClair Nelson. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Pastor David Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday, September 24, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Family suggests that material contributions be made to Jerusalem Lutheran Church General Fund.
