Obituary

COLUMBIANA – Kay Olnhausen Burbick, 90, passed away Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, at the Inn at Old Saybrook in Columbiana, where she had been a resident for six months.

Kay was born on December 22, 1935, in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles Ramsey and Grace (Brook) Olnhausen. She was a 1953 graduate of New Waterford high school, and graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance in 1957. Kay married Robert Burbick on August 8, 1958. She taught fourth and fifth grade at Market Street Elementary School in Boardman. Kay also worked at Burbick Carriage Works.

Kay's life was defined by her devotion to the First United Methodist Church and by her love of God. Her similar devotion to her husband and son were central to her life. Kay enjoyed spending time with her immediate family and placed their needs above her own.

Kay leaves to cherish her memory her son Robert Ramsey Burbick, and brothers Charles B. Olnhausen of Albuquerque, NM and James R. Olnhausen of New York, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert Burbick, who passed away March 11, 2019.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main Street, Columbiana, with Pastor Cyndi Midlick officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at 3:00 p.m. at the church.
