Obituary

Keith A. Reash, 56, of 428 Park View Dr. Columbiana, passed away at 2:36 pm Friday, December 18, 2009 at his residence from a sudden illness. Keith was born on September 23, 1953, the son of the late Kenneth B. and Anna C. Crosser Reash. Mr. Reash had worked at Iron City Sash and Door for 27 years, Tri-W Lumber of Leetonia, Columbiana County Educational Services, and more recently as a State of Ohio Educational Aide. Keith was a member of Grace Church in Columbiana where he served as a deacon. He was a charter member of the " Sons of the American Legion Post 290" for 47 years. He was an avid sports fan. Mr. Reash was a member of the Quad County Football Coaches Association, a member of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association and a member of the Ohio High School Track Coaches Association, a member of the Columbiana High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee. He was awarded the 2003 AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the year award. Keith was the chairperson for the Fix Our Field project at Firestone Park and he was assistant game coordinator for the Penn-Ohio game. Mr. Reash had coached within the Columbiana Baseball Association from Bantam to Little League for many years. He coached soccer for five years, he coached Columbiana High School and Junior High Track and he coached for the Columbiana High and Junior High football for the past 15 years. Most recently he was the head Junior High Football Coach. Keith is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Shelley Shaffer, whom he married November 14, 1981; two sons Kris Reash and Tim Reash; a sister Cathy (Marc) Smith of Austin, Texas; two nieces; a sister-in-law Cindy (Dan) Wickline; a brother-in-law Mark Shaffer; a mother-in-law Billie Ann Shaffer; six nephews; five great-nieces and ten great-nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Grace Church in Columbiana with Rev. Rob Joy officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the church. Family suggests material tributes be made to the Columbiana Athletic Facilities Committee P.O. Box 74 Columbiana, Ohio 44408.
