Schaal, 86 of 13190 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Columbiana, passed away April 29, 2007 at his home early Sunday morning of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Schaal was born February 26, 1921 in Beaver Township, the son of Frank G. and Iva Reichard Schaal. Kenneth was a life-long area resident, he was employed at Sears Roebuck & Co. Columbiana, Ohio in the Youngstown and Boardman Stores in the mall for 25 years as a shipping and receiving clerk. Mr. Schaal worked with the clown group from Columbiana County and helped out with R.S.V.P. puppets. Kenneth worked as a minister for several years in East Liverpool, Orwell and Newbury, Ohio. Mr. Schaal was a member of the New Springfield Church of God. Kenneth was a W.W.II Army Veteran, serving in the European Theatre. Mr. Schaal was preceded in death October 29, 2003, by his wife, the former Evelyn J. McElroy. They were married January 17, 1946. Kenneth is survived by two sons Donald Schaal and his wife Martha of Akron, Ohio and Kenton Schaal and his wife Patricia of Columbiana, Ohio; a sister Arlene Blasiman of Columbiana; four grandchildren Stephen Schaal, Susan Friske, Ashlee Schaal and Alicia Schaal. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the New Springfield Church of God with Rev. Ron Wamer and Stephen Schaal officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 pm Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the New Springfield Church of God and one hour prior to the service Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the church. Family suggests that material tributes be made to the New Springfield Church of God. Arrangements are being handled by the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.
