Box 1 Columbiana, Ohio 44408 330-482-3788 Larry Wilson MacBride, seventy-three of 2104 Timberline Dr. Columbiana, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 01, 2006 at his residence after a year and a half illness. Larry was born on May 4, 1933 in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the son of Winfield Berwyn and Thora Calderwood Wilson MacBride. He lived in Largo, Florida for 6 1/2 years before moving back to Columbiana in 2003. Larry worked at St. Joe Lead Co. for forty-four years as an engineering assistant, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine. After graduating from Midland High School, he served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290 in Columbiana and the Voiture 290 - 40/8. Larry was a personable man who was an avid private pilot and loved his canine companion, Wilson. Above all he loved sharing his faith in God. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Goedeker. Larry is survived by his second wife the former Susan Cragle, whom he married September 20, 1980; a daughter Wendy MacBride; two step-daughters Diana Swanson and her husband Bill of Herndon, Virginia and Denise Banko of Texas; two sisters Barbara Madish and Dorothy Hurtt; a brother Winfield Berwyn MacBride, Jr. and five grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Mr. Bob Helbeck officiating. Burial will be in the Columbiana Cemetery where the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290 of Columbiana will conduct a military honor service at the cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Family suggests that material tributes be made to Hospice of the Valley 120 W.
