Obituary

Leland "Lee" E. Bricker, 85, of 47 S. Cross St. Columbiana, passed away peacefully at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness. Mr. Bricker was born January 17, 1925 in East Palestine, the son of Elmer and Pauline Mackall Bricker. Lee retired as a credit manager in 1980 with G.M.A.C. in Boardman, after a 30 year career. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana for many years. Mr. Bricker served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945, in the Pacific Theatre during W.W. II. He graduated in 1943 from Struthers High School and graduated from Y.S.U. with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration in 1951. Lee was also a member of the Columbiana Rotary and the Allen Masonic Lodge #276 F&AM. Mr. Bricker is survived by his wife, the former Sarah "Sally" L. Wood, whom he married July 15, 1949. Other survivors include four daughters, Patricia (Ray) Morelli of Leetonia, Karen (Danny) Culp of Salem, Susan (Jeff) Berger of Columbiana and Leslie (Jeff) Schreiber of Leetonia; two sons Michael (Karen) Bricker of Norwich, Ohio and Jeffrey Bricker of Parma Heights, Ohio; a brother Dale (Donna) Bricker of Canfield, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbiana with Rev. Paula Archdeacon officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Church. A Masonic Service will be held at 9:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Funeral Home. The Benjamin Firestone American Legion Post #290 will also conduct a Military Honors Service at the Columbiana Cemetery. The family suggests that material tributes may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana.
