Obituary

Lillian G. Schoolcraft, 89, of Columbiana, formerly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away at 2:50 a.m. on February 23, 2010 at her home following an extended illness. Lillian was born on February 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Marshall and Henrietta (Null) Valentine. Mrs. Schoolcraft was a graduate of Parkersburg High School in West Virginia and moved to Columbiana over 30 years ago. She had been a practical nurse and also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where she founded the church daycare in 1972. She was a past president of the church missionary society and board member for several years. When Lillian moved to Columbiana she transferred her membership in her church in Parkersburg to Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. Lillian was preceded in death on September 19, 1971 by her husband, Harvey E. Schoolcraft, whom she married on November 8, 1941. Mrs. Schoolcraft is survived by three daughters, Donna (Sam) Bell of Columbiana, Ohio, Judy (Jim) Matheny of Elizabeth, West Virginia, Bonnie (William) Grimm of Leetonia, Ohio, 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Schoolcraft was preceded in death by one son, David Schoolcraft and seven of her brothers. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck funeral home in Columbiana with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. Friends may call today, February 24, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 all at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.
