Obituary

BOARDMAN - Lloyd E. Griffith Sr., 92, of Boardman, passed away early Thursday morning, November 21, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center surrounded by his family. Lloyd was born on September 17, 1921 in North Lima, a son of Clyde E. and Iva Pauline (Morris) Griffith. He was a life-long area resident. He attended North Lima School, and entered the Army Air Corp August 12, 1942. He served in the Pacific theater and was involved in the battles and campaigns of the southern Philippines, where he earned several decorations and citations. After returning from the service in 1946, Lloyd was employed at Saramar Aluminum in Warren. He was a materials handler, which he did for 35 years until he retired. A social person, he especially enjoyed being with his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his daughter, Janis Ranelli of New Middletown; his son, Lloyd Griffith Jr. of Boardman; three grandchildren, Damon Griffith, Zachary Griffith, and Jessica (Michael) Loftus; four great grandchildren, Gina Griffith, Ryne, Teagan, and Carrigan Loftus; and a brother Leon Griffith of Florida. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, the former Josephine Bebawaka, who passed away in February 1983; his second wife, the former Dorothy Peacock, who passed away in September 2010; and a brother Lester Griffith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23 at 10:30 a.m., one hour prior to the service at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima. The Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio is entrusted with the arrangements.
