CHARLESTON, S.C. – Louanne C. Kramer, 85, formerly of North Lima, passed away Dec. 10, 2016, at the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law in Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Kramer was born on Jan. 10, 1931, in Albany, N.Y., a daughter of Charles and Marcia (Sliter) Harrington. She married Emil K. Kramer on Aug. 16, 1952, in Syracuse, N.Y., and together they would raise two children. Louanne spent many years being a housewife. In the early 1990s, she began volunteering as a teacher's aide at South Range elementary school. This turned into a permanent position until her retirement in 2011. She assisted teachers by providing extra help to students that needed support with reading and spelling. A member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima, Louanne was very involved with her church and community. If any event needed baked goods, she would provide them, making sure there were some for the police department. She also was instrumental in starting and developing the SRCCC, an association of churches, schools and clubs in Beaver Township that is dedicated to helping the needy with food, school supplies, clothing, rent and utility payments. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Heidi A. Byler and her husband, Denis of Charleston, S.C. and son, Mark R. Kramer of Adams Run, S.C.; nephew Frank Senior III of Charleston, S.C., whom she helped raise; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Lacey) Kramer, with whom she made her home until 2011, Jason Kramer, Sean Kramer, Gerald Yerkey, Michael Yerkey, David Yerkey, Brian Yerkey and PFC Terry Yerkey; and five great-grandchildren. Louanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Emil, who passed away July 30, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St. in North Lima, with Pastor Ralph Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, at 10 a.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in Louanne's memory to the Good Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 12030 Market St., North Lima OH 44452.
