Obituary

Louise R. Smith, 75, of Boardman, went to be with Jesus at 4:19 a.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman, following a brief illness. Louise was born on May 28, 1934 in Washington, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Harold W. and Edith A. Eisiminger Johnson. Mrs. Smith worked at Lawson's, Dairy Mart, Hill's Department Store as a clerk and at Stadium Drive Elementary for the Boardman Local School District. Louise was a member of the Boardman United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and attended college for one year. Mrs. Smith was one of the founders of the Boardman Girls Little League Softball, which she coached and took to state and won the all star state title in 1976. Louise is survived by her husband Ernest D. Smith, whom she married August 24, 1954. Other survivors include four daughters, Joan L. (Michael) Vujovich of Petersburg, IL, Jill A. Stofira of Charlotte, NC, Janne (Timothy) Oriole of Pelham, NH and Joy Craven of Boardman; two sisters, Eleanor Riser of Santa Fe, NM and Kathleen Kime of Scenery Hill, PA and nine grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by an infant daughter Patty Ann Smith, two grandsons and one great-grandson. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Rev. Ash Welch officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Friends may call from 2-4 & 5-7 Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. The family suggests that material tributes be made to the Mahoning County Rescue Mission or the Salvation Army.
