Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home 154 South Elm St. P.O. Box 1 Columbiana, Ohio 44408 330-482-3788 Lowell P. Ziegler, 88, of 524 Beeson Mill Rd. Leetonia, passed away at 5:30 a.m. of natural causes on Sunday, October 21, 2007. Mr. Ziegler was born at the same farm where he had lived on September 27, 1919, the son of Paul A. and Edith Witmer Ziegler. Lowell was a life-long area resident. He farmed and was a mechanic at the former Paul Witmer & Sons of Columbiana. He was also a self-employed truck driver, working for McGaffic Trucking Co. of Lisbon. He also worked as an excavator. Lowell was a member of Grace Church of Columbiana where he was a former deacon and a former member of the church choir. Mr. Ziegler was a board member of Farifield School for six years. He was a member of the Fairfield Ruritan for many years where he served as the secretary and was a member of the East Coast 4-Wheel Drive Association. Lowell was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Ziegler is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Miller, whom he married August 23, 1941. They were married for 66 years. Other survivors include a daughter Mrs. Amy Blakley of Austintown; two sons James and his wife Janice Ziegler of Dalton, Ohio and Jerry and his wife Rose Mary Ziegler of Leetonia; two sisters Mrs. Miriam Walter of Columbiana and Mrs. Wilma Wilder of Oklahoma City, OK six grandsons; two great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. Lowell was preceded in death by a brother Elwood Ziegler and an infant brother Wilmer Ziegler. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2007, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Rev. Dr. Robert Joy officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Family suggest material tributes be made to the American Heart Association.
