Obituary

Lucille Hattie Martin, 85, of Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, Ohio, passed away of complications of congestive heart failure at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 after a brief stay at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born January 21, 1924 in Millersburg, Ohio, the daughter of Heber and Amelia (Feikert) Mitten. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and helped her husband on their family farm. She was a member of the Leetonia Mennonite Church, where she participated in the sewing circle, taught Bible School and Sunday School. Lucille was also a 4-H advisor for Churchill Chippers and was a member of Christian Women. Lucille was preceded in death on January 14, 2005 by her husband Herbert L. Martin, whom she married on June 3, 1945. She is survived by five daughters, Judy (Guy) Cutler of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Loretta Ammons of Carrollton, Georgia, Cindy (Paul) Noling of Salem, Ohio, Delores (Ron) Rankin of Watford City, North Dakota, Suzie (George) Brady of Livingston, Louisiana; one son, Donald (Marion) Martin of Columbiana, Ohio; 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Leetonia Mennonite Church with Rev. Timothy Schultz officiating. Friends and family may call from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and one hour prior to the funeral service from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Leetonia Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Salem Area Visiting Nurse Association, 718 E 3rd St # A, Salem, OH 44460 or to Life-Line "Project Hello", Salem Community Hospital, Attention Administration: 1995 E State Street, Salem, OH 44460.
