M. Helen Sahli, 87, of Columbiana, passed away Thursday evening at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center surrounded by her family. Helen was born on August 13, 1925 on the family farm in southern Ohio, the daughter of Riley B. and Carol (Gage) Hayes. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Helen was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown. Helen leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Dee (Roger) Schreffler of Salem; two sons, John (Traci) Gaither of Eutawville, S.C. and William (Gloria) Gaither of Columbiana; a sister, Anne Waggoner of Farmington, W. Va.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center for their kindness and care given to Helen.
