Obituary

On September 5, 2008, Mabel Lida Ziegler, 88, passed away at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Valley and surrounded by her loving family. Mabel was born October 14, 1919 in Salem, a daughter of Howard and Edith (Kirk) Holloway. An area resident most of her life, she graduated from Goshen High School in 1938. She was a milk tester in surrounding counties for the state of Ohio, farmer's wife, partner in Albert's egg route business, homemaker, and part time custodian along with her husband, Albert at Columbiana Schools. Survivors include her husband, Albert D. Ziegler, whom she married March 20, 1949, three children, Mildred (Harold) Trotter of Columbiana, Wanda Ziegler of New Waterford and Sherman A. Ziegler of Columbiana; three grandchildren, Trina (Brian) Nussbaum, Travis (Gini) Trotter and Jonathan Trotter, all of Harrisonburg, Virginia, one great-grandson, Tristan Nussbaum; two brothers, Edgar (Virginia) Holloway of Columbiana, Warren Holloway of Florence, South Carolina; and one sister, Lois Barton of Eugene, Oregon. Mabel was preceded in death by her two sisters Carol Holloway and her twin Mildred Holloway. Mabel was a member of North Lima Mennonite Church. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Columbiana at the Midway Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
