SALEM – Mable June Osterling, 86, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

'June' was born on October 15, 1930 in Jackson County, West Virginia, a daughter of William G. and Minnie (Phillips) Snyder.     Her house was filled with love, and her grandchildren thought of June as a second mother.  Her children's friends were welcome in her house at all times, and she was well known for her delicious snickerdoodle cookies.  She cooked feasts for the whole family during the holidays, catering to everyone.  June was called 'mom' by many, and her passing will be deeply felt.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Jeff Osterling of Leetonia; three daughters Kathie Bopp and her husband Tim of Queen Creek, AZ, Karyn Carpenter of Salem and Pam Petrycki and her husband Stephen of Columbiana; seven grandchildren Matthew, Jennifer, Katie, Melissa, Erin, Mikey and Stephanie; one great-granddaughter Juliette; and a sister Nina Parsons of Cincinnati.

June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Osterling, who passed away March 24, 1996, her son Eric Osterling, and eight siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 3:00pm at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana officiated by Pastor Sean Kelly.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00pm, two hours before the services at the funeral home.
