Marian L. Double, 81, of Columbiana, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and beloved husband, Jerry, while volunteering at Salem Community Hospital on August 2, 2010. Marian was born on July 7, 1929 in New Middletown, Ohio the daughter of Ralph H. and Mildred F. (Crum) Smith. Mrs. Double was employed at Sheely's Furniture and Appliance as an office manager for 35 years, retiring in 2005. Marian was a member of the First Christian Church in Columbiana, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Choir Member, Custodian, Guide at the Walk Through With Jesus, and was a member of the U and I class as well as the Priscilla Circle. She was an active volunteer at Salem Community Hospital, serving on a weekly basis. Marian was preceded in death on January 7, 2009 by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" B. Double, whom she married on August 19, 1950. She is survived by her son, Gary B. Double of Reading, Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Russell T. Double of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Bryan T. Double and his wife Ashley of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and two great-grandchildren, Mckinzie Grace Double and Lincoln Howard Double. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Columbiana with Mr. Clarence E. Mansfield and Mr. John Reed officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that material contributions be made to the First Christian Church in Columbiana.
