Marie E. Davis, 94, of Springfield Road, Columbiana, died peacefully in her sleep on December 11, 2008. She was born July 30, 1914, in Unity Township, Ohio, the daughter of Norman and Daisy Klitz. She lived in the Columbiana area all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia. She was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Salem, where she was a member of the sewing circle. She was a graduate of Columbiana High School. She was the secretary/treasurer of the family business, Coalbrook Mining. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer A. Davis. She loved to have her family around her and she leaves five children, Richard (Sandy) Davis of Springfield, Ohio; Sue (Wayne) Urschler of Columbiana; Robert Davis of Columbiana; James (Sandy) Davis of Hanoverton; and Ann (Richard) Evans of Columbiana; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother Henry Klitz and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 15 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Private burial services will be held at Columbiana Cemetery. The Seederly-Mong-Beck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090 or to the organ fund of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
