COLUMBIANA - Marion A. McKim, 101, of Columbiana, passed away early Sunday morning, December 7 at home. Marion was born February 5, 1913, in Butler, PA, a daughter of Braden and Rose Etta (Wyant) McCandless. She moved here from Ellwood City, PA in 1980. Marion was employed by Dr. J.K. Painter as a dental technician for 31 years, and also worked at Kimpel's Jewelry store, retiring after 19 years. She was a longstanding member of First United Methodist Church of Columbiana. Marion was very talented in all kinds of handcrafts. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, leatherwork, ceramics, upholstery, millinery, and jewelry making. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Marion leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Janice Kimpel and her husband John (Jack) of Columbiana, with whom she made her home; three grandchildren John Kimpel of Columbiana, Lauren Mitchener and her husband John of Troy, MI, and Jim Kimpel and his wife Anne of Pittsburgh; and four great-grandchildren Michelle and Molly Mitchener and Charlie and Stephen Kimpel. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert James McKim, whom she married January 3, 1932 and he passed away February 24, 1986; and two sisters Janice and Rosemary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 12 at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Columbiana, 210 S. Main Street, Columbiana with Pastor Joshua Conley officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 2 - 4 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Columbiana Cemetery. The family requests donations may be made in Marion's memory to the First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, OH 44408. The Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio has been entrusted with the arrangements.
