Marjorie L. Cole, 89, of Blossom Nursing Home, passed away at 6:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Blossom Nursing Home in Salem. Marjorie was born on December 30, 1921 in Columbiana, OH, the daughter of A.B. and Edna Marie Horne McLaughlin. Mrs. Cole was a life-long area resident. She had worked at the former Franklin Furniture of Columbiana as a sewer for 15 years and was a hospital candy stripper for 10 years. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana. Mrs. Cole was a member of the Eastern Star Columbiana Chapter where she had been past treasurer and she was a member of the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290 Auxiliary of Columbiana. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death on January 12, 1982, by her husband Henry Cole. They were married March 25, 1945. She is survived by a daughter Donna (Dale) Young of Juno, Alaska; a son William H. Cole of Kaufman, TX; two sisters Mrs. Evelyn Stockman of Chillicothe and Mrs. Laverne Kellner of Columbiana; two brothers Andrew McLaughlin of Greenford and Robert McLaughlin of Columbiana; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by sisters Millie Tullis, Anna Mae Adams, Dorothy Rapp, and a brother Kenny McLaughlin. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 1st at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Rev. Paula Archdeacon officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
