Martha M. Arn, 95, of Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at 7:30 pm, Friday, April 4, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Arn was born September 7, 1913 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Simon and Louise (Bartoli) Sanders. Martha was a life long area resident. Mrs. Arn graduated from Mercer Sanitarium, and later worked for many years as a registered nurse for Dr. Lee Bookwalter. Martha was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church of New Waterford. In 1967 Martha and her husband joined United World Mission and made over 100 trips with missionary work groups to Central and South America, Europe, and Africa. After Bill's death, Martha continued to join workgroups and traveled with them to Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Bolivia, Cuba, and Alaska. Her last trip was to Guatemala, when she was more than 90 years old. Martha was preceded in death by her husband William B. Arn, whom she married in 1939. Mrs. Arn is survived by one daughter, Mary-Jo Arn and her husband, Ken Heinrich, of Somerville, MA and four grandsons, David, Jonathan, Peter and Jeremiah and by 8 great-grandchildren. Martha was also preceded in death by one daughter; Virginia Arn in 2005 and one son; Bill Arn in 2003. A Memorial Service will be held at Abundant Life Fellowship at a later date.
