Martha Mae Martin, 90, formerly of Renkenberger Rd., Columbiana, passed away Monday evening at Parkside Care Center where she had resided for just over a year. Mrs. Martin was born May 24, 1920 in Beaver Township to the late Noah and Fannie (Martin) Weaver. Martha graduated from Greenford High School as the class Valedictorian. She was an active member of Midway Mennonite Church serving as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the sewing circle. She enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening, Bible studies, and writing and reading poetry. Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband Ira E. Martin, who passed away July 28, 2009; she is also preceded by her brother John Weaver, and a sister Edna Zook. Martha is survived by her three sons, Lowell (Doris) Martin of Strasburg, CO., Ronald (Patty) Martin of Leavittsburg, and Lawrence (Lucia) Martin of Leavittsburg; five daughters, Naomi "Molly" (John) Hostetler of Columbiana, Lucille (John) Clark of Washingtonville, Charlotte (Bill) Beck of Berlin Center, Kathy (Bill) Schroedel of Cuyahoga Falls, and Carol Moser of Austintown. 16 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren; and a sister Carrie Morris of Franklin, PA. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Midway Mennonite Church with Rev. Herman Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Midway Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the church, and one hour prior to services on Saturday. The family suggests that any material tributes be made to the Mennonite Mission Board care of Midway Mennonite Church.
