Mary E. Franklin, 86 of 1730 Woodland Dr. Columbiana, passed away at 3:01 p.m. at the Mahoning 's Valley Hospital in Boardman. Mary was born on June 27, 1922 in Butler, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Amanda Fisher Buchanan. Mary moved to East Palestine in 1950 and then to Columbiana in 1957. She worked at Theron's Country Store and she also had worked at Nemenz of Columbiana as a cashier, retiring in 1994. Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death on April 21, 1982 by her husband, Edward T. Franklin. They were married December 8, 1944. Survivors include two daughters Roberta (Russell) Rogers of Rogers and Meg Bowman of Columbiana; two sons Robert (Lenore) Franklin of Manford, OK and Frank E. (Sharon) Franklin of Coalinga,CA; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her best Friend Sandy Custer whom the family wishes to thank for all her years of freindship. A brother Francis Buchanan preceded her in death. A special thanks to her grandchildren Amanda (Brad) Marteney, Ron Bowman and Jamison Ford Rogers. A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Cool Springs Cemetery in Leetonia with Rev. Keri Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery.
