Mary "Tommie" E. Keck , age 89, of 1229 Columbiana - Lisbon Rd. Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at 6:50 am Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Hospice House of Poland, Ohio. Mrs. Keck was born July 31, 1921 in Ellsworth, Ohio, the daughter of John and Florence Spencer Manchester. Tommie moved to the local area as a young child and graduated in 1939 from Columbiana High School. She operated "Tommie's" Beauty Shop of Columbiana for 20 years. Mrs. Keck was a member of Grace Church. She had served in past years as a Sunday school teacher and also served on the board of Christian Education. Besides being active in her church, Tommie also was a 4-H Leader in the past years, and volunteered for meals on wheels for 17 years and the Red Cross Blood Drive for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Keck on June 14, 2007. They were married February 1, 1941. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Paul (Carol) Neidlinger of Youngstown, OH, a son Eric (Margie) Huntston Keck of Albuquerque, NM, 5 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Besides her husband Mary is preceded in death by a sister Winifred Marshall and brother Harold Manchester. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Grace Church of Columbiana at 4:00 pm with Pastor, Rob Joy officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 4 P.M. in the church.
