Mary Kidd, 76, of Salem, Ohio, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Salem Community Hospital. She was born August 3, 1932 in Pierre, South Dakota, the daughter of Ralph Henry and Fannie Goldie (Warrick) Andress. Mrs. Kidd moved to Ashland, Ohio in 1940 and then to the local area in 1945. She was a homemaker and attended the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle and recorded and taped music for the church. Mary was also an avid reader. Mary is survived by two daughters, Karen Kidd of Salem, Ohio and Patricia Kidd of Salem, Ohio; one son, Rev. David Edward (Robin) Kidd of Salem, Ohio; one sister, Martha (Jim) Altman of Leetonia, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Jordan, Alex and Kaitlin. Mrs. Kidd was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen Angela in 1964 and by her sister, Marjorie June Stover. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren with Rev. John Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the church. The family suggests that material contributions be made to Zion Hill Church of The Brethren, which will be used in support of Todd and Allyson Nagel Missionaries now in Kenya.
