Mason L. Bennett, 14, of 4557 Signal Rd. Columbiana, passed away at 7:49 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2010, at his residence from brain cancer which he had for two years. Mason was born November 29, 1995, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Steve R. and Kathy A. Mason Bennett. Mason was an eighth grade student at Crestview Middle School. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was in the upwards basketball program. Mason was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed all sports. He was a member of the Columbiana Church of Christ where he was an active member of the youth group and participated in Leadership Training for Christ. Mason attended Northeast Ohio Christian Youth Camp each summer. Besides his parents, Mason is survived by a brother Dawson D. Bennett, at home; maternal grandparents Dick and Marge Mason of Columbiana, paternal grandparents Dan and Joyce Bennett of Mansfield, Ohio and paternal great-grandmother Mildred Erwin of Benton, IL. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Columbiana Church of Christ with Mr. Gary Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Monday, May 3, 2010 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Columbiana Church of Christ. Family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Columbiana Church of Christ.
