Mildred Louise Crouse completed her Earthly journey in the 94th year of her life, passing away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 1, 2017.

Mildred was born Mildred Moore in Petersburg, Ohio on September 1, 1922, the fifth child of Riley and Violet Moore. Her brothers Edmund, Harold, and sisters Lucille Morris and Sarah Shoemaker preceded her in death. She married Paul Franklin Crouse on December 16, 1945 when he returned from Serving in World War 2. The couple moved to North Lima where they raised their two sons, Wendell of Brattleboro VT, and Jeffrey of North Lima, Oh. Paul, her husband of 57 years passed away in 2002.

Mildred was a lifetime member of Mt. Olivet UCC in North Lima, which she attended regularly until her health declined. A lifetime Democrat, Mildred worked the polls at elections throughout the sixties and seventies, and was proud to make the art of raising her family her vocation and her joy.

She leaves behind 5 nieces, and 4 nephews, and their families who will mourn her loss. Mildred's devotion to her family, her infectious laugh and sense of humor, as well as her strength under pressure will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and whose life she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6 at Mount Olivet United Church of Christ in North Lima with pastor Michael Smith and pastor Jerry Kruse officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service, at 10 a.m., on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Mildred's memory to the Mt. Olivet Church Music Fund, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, OH 44452 or MVI Hospice, 2350 E State St., Salem, OH 44460 .
